(UNIT 3) 3. Thriller Mood Board

There will be a back shot of two friends on a bike ride. I have found a similar scenario where E.T. is being taken away by the C.I.A and the boys try and help him escape. So i used the bike chase from 1:05 to represent a casual bike ride.
The shots that will be used are back shot and side shot and the side shot will have a full body shot of the masked figure as it plays a huge role in this short thriller trailer.
Image result for dark streetThere will be edits like a quick succession of fast-paced short clips that will disorient an audience. The first scene would be slow paced just to get the audience aware but as soon as that happens we need a very fast paced scene to grab the audience from the chair like a shadow or something to get the audience interested and engaged and this would mean that they wont be bored of the film.
In thrillers, mise-en-scene is used a lot to contrast with the film. An example would be the lighting and colours used, this being dark colours and moody colours to set the theme. Dark colours contrast really well as it gives a build up of tension or suspence. The low lighting will also help give you clear shadows which will get the audience scared and wanting to know more about the shadow.
Sounds depend on the thriller and how they start off. In some cases they generally start off with a slow paced tempo and then gradually goes into an eerie noise which creates the suspence. The music would allow help build up to a climax when the 'scary part' of the film approaches. The music would start off slow paced then gradually speed up which helps build the tension and help end the climax.
To help with the mise-en-scene, costumes that are used have to be realistic and natural and based during a time when the audience are there so the present is idealistic. An example of makeup for women could be crying and there could be a smudge.
Typical thrillers have the setting as a haunted house or dark alleyways and the props that are mainly used are knives and guns that are ideal for the antagonist and protagonist.
